Atlético Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann named Liga BBVA Player of the Month for January

 The LFP has named Atlético Madrid winger Antoine Griezmann as the Liga BBVA Player of the Month for January, scoring five goals in three games.

The French international has finally found his place after struggling to adapt in his first several months at the Vicente Calderon and is coming up with massive goals as Atletico Madrid continue to keep pace in the La Liga title race.

Griezmann has scored a total of 11 goals in La Liga this season, but with almost half coming in January alone, he was the obvious choice for the Liga BBVA Player of the Year award.

The LFP also announced that Las Palmas midfielder Roque Mesa was named the Liga Adelante Player of the Month, after playing all four games in January and getting crucial goals in wins over Real Zaragoza and Barcelona B.
